Helen spent years perfecting the techniques of making a great quality product at home, having helped her gran in their home kitchen, since she was a young girl.
Every detail was considered, testing spoons and pots, conducting countless taste tests and ensuring consistency for every batch was possible; in order that the perfect texture and flavour was delivered time after time.
As demand grew, the couple decided to expand into a commercial space but Helen remained committed to making fudge by hand, just as her grandmother had.
“Every detail mattered in creating the perfect fudge,” says Helen. “We wanted to bring back the traditional methods of fudge and Scottish Tablet making and keep them alive for future generations.”

Ochil Fudge crafts over 20 flavours of handmade fudge and traditional Scottish Tablet using time-honoured methods.
Every batch is hand-beaten to create a silky-smooth texture, a process that takes time and dedication but ensures an unmatched taste and quality.
They use simple, high-quality ingredients – just like you would at home – to maintain the authentic, homemade taste that inspired them to start the business.
“Time and craftsmanship set us apart,” says Graeme. “Every pot of fudge is carefully hand-beaten to achieve the perfect consistency, ensuring a smooth, melt-in-the-mouth texture.
“No shortcuts – just traditional methods that have stood the test of time.”
Based in Alloa – in the shadow of the beautiful, rolling Ochil Hills – Ochil Fudge is proud to be an independently run business with strong family values at its core.
Helen and Graeme believe in providing local jobs and supporting the local economy by participating in community events and market stalls.
Their small, dedicated team of artisan fudge makers all live within a mile of the kitchen, fostering a strong sense of community.

The couple’s dedication to quality has not gone unnoticed. Ochil Fudge has received 14 Great Taste Awards, an accolade from the Scottish Retail Food & Drinks Industry in 2022, and most recently, a Best Product Award at the Speciality Food & Drink Show in January.
Their Scottish Tablet remains a fan favourite, while their Cherry Bakewell Fudge has gained a loyal following.
“We take pride in keeping traditional fudge-making techniques alive while supporting our local economy,” says Helen.
While Ochil Fudge remains deeply rooted in tradition, Graeme and Helen are always looking for ways to innovate. From new flavour creations to exciting collaborations with other Scottish artisans such as Grace Chocolates and whisky distilleries from Tobermory to Glenturret , there’s always something new on the horizon.
As their business grows, they aim to continue contributing to their local economy and giving back to the community that has supported them.
“We regularly participate in food festivals, speciality markets, and seasonal events. Stay tuned to our website and social media for updates on where to find us next!” says Graeme.
