Situated in the beautiful Endrick Valley, you’ll find Knockraich Farm. Home to Katy Rodger’s award-winning artisan dairy and the Courtyard Café.

Owned and managed by the Rodger family since 1955, Knockraich Farm in Fintry is a family run dairy with a small herd of 60 British Friesian cattle.

Katy said: “At our heart we are a family dairy farm and have built our business around enhancing and complimenting the farm and the environment that surrounds us. Our small herd are all born and bred here on the farm, which means we can guarantee provenance of the health and wellbeing of every cow, as well as every litre of milk.

“Our primary focus has always been for quality of meat and milk, rather than quantity, and that can only come from happy cows. Our cattle are grazed outdoors for as much of the year as the Scottish weather allows and during the winter months are fed on a primarily grass based diet. The milk produced is taken across the yard to go directly into our award-winning range of dairy products.”

Katy Rodger’s multi-award-winning Artisan Dairy is based on the farm and produces a range of natural dairy products using whole, non-homogenised milk direct from the herd.

Katy explained: “Our full range of chilled products are 100% natural, free from any artificial colours, flavours, sweeteners, or preservatives.

“They’re also very versatile and can be eaten as they are or served in both sweet and savoury dishes.

“We’ve been Scotland Food and Drink Award Winners and Great Taste Award Winners on many occasions; but the best recognition is from all the locals who come back to buy our products week after week!”

The Courtyard Café (currently closed due to Covid-19 restrictions) offers delicious home baking and light lunches, using seasonal produce from the farm’s kitchen garden.

Also available from the farm shop are natural and fruit yogurts, crème fraiche, Knockraich Crowdie, butter, buttermilk, whey and ice cream.

Milk can now be purchased direct from the farm. Simply buy a reusable glass bottle or bring your own container to the café and fill up from the milk station. No plastic, no fuss. In the past 12 months alone, the farm has saved around 10,000 plastic milk bottles from landfill!

The surrounding landscape and gardens also provide the stunning backdrop for ‘The Tin Shed’, the farm’s unique events venue.

Private hire is available for weddings, celebrations, bespoke dining, corporate days and music events. Hosting up to 120 guests indoors, you can also enjoy exclusive use of the gardens and bothy outdoors.
