Airlie Ice Cream first began making ice cream back in 2017. Creating gorgeously rich and creamy flavours in their Strathyre based ice cream parlour.
With four varieties inspired by the traditionally made local ice cream we all remember when growing up, from raspberry ripple and vanilla to mint choc chip and tablet.
Owner Colin Adams said: “We were keen to recapture the delicious flavours of our Scottish childhood and decided to create our own small batch ice cream using the finest locally sourced ingredients.
“We loved sharing our ice creams with locals and visitors and received rave reviews. Our reputation quickly spread and our bespoke orders started to increase. Strathyre Village Shop was our first stockist in 2019!”
Colin added: “As our ice cream became more popular, we decided to move into the wholesale market and now supply several local businesses across Stirling, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.
“Our business is growing rapidly but we remain commited to creating high-quality, traditional ice-cream.
“We make our ice cream in our stand alone unit while enjoying stunning views of Ben Sheann and the surrounding countryside.
“We still produce our ice cream in small batches, using the finest locally sourced produce, ensuring the highest quality produce and tastes like we remember when growing up in a small town in Scotland.”
Airlie Ice Cream fans may have noticed a furry mascot adorning the ice cream’s packaging. Colin explained:
“The appearance of the Airlie Otter on our packaging came from our many walks around the stunning Strathyre area.
“We’ve spent many an entertaining hour watching otters play along the banks of the nearby River Balvaig.
“Sociable, curious and full of fun, we love sharing our neighbourhood with them.
“As fellow natives of Strathyre, they make the perfect symbols for Airlie Ice Cream.”
