AC Signature Coffee Beans is more than just a coffee trailer – it’s the result of Alison Cowie’s lifelong love for great coffee and warm hospitality. After three decades of running a successful guest house in Causewayhead, welcoming thousands of visitors through her doors including celebrity chef Rick Stein, Alison decided it was time for a new adventure.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

For Alison, coffee has always been more than just a drink; it’s an experience to be shared. After years of welcoming guests, she found herself drawn to the idea of taking that same warmth and hospitality on the road.

Converting her guest house into self-catering apartments gave her the perfect opportunity to pursue her passion for coffee.

Now her bespoke coffee trailer has become a familiar sight at local events, offering Alison a chance to connect with people in a whole new way.

“I’ve always been a people person,” Alison says with a smile. “There’s something special about serving someone a cup of coffee and having a chat. It’s so rewarding.”

THE SIGNATURE BLEND

Alison takes great care in creating her AC Signature Beans, small-batch coffee that’s smooth with subtle notes of vanilla and chocolate.

It’s a blend she’s proud of, and one that’s been shaped by the support and advice of Stirling’s close-knit coffee roasting community, including Unorthodox Roasters and Spider Monkey Coffee Roasters.

“I’ve learned so much from them,” Alison shares. “Their encouragement has been incredible, and it’s helped me refine my own roast.”

OUT AND ABOUT

These days, you’ll find Alison and her trailer at markets, fairs and local events, serving up freshly brewed coffee alongside artisan cakes, traybakes and savoury treats.

Whether it’s a velvety latte, a rich espresso, or a comforting hot chocolate, there’s something for everyone on the menu.

“I’d love to find a regular spot in Stirling,” Alison says. “Somewhere near a tourist attraction would be perfect. Right now, I have a regular spot at Solsgirth Home Farm’s monthly artisan market, and it’s great to see familiar faces coming back for their morning brew.”

LOOKING AHEAD

Alison’s journey with AC Signature Coffee Beans is just getting started. She has dreams of expanding her reach, bringing her coffee to even more events and perhaps one day settling into a permanent location.

“For me, it’s all about sharing good coffee with good people,” Alison reflects. “I love what I do, and I hope others enjoy it just as much.”
