The thriving business was taken over in 2015 by Joanna Taylor:
“I’d worked in hospitality for years, but I wasn’t really enjoying the long hours.
“I’ve lived in Dollar all my life and knew the deli’s previous owners well.
“Eight years ago they approached me to see if I would like to take it over and I haven’t looked back since.
“I’ve loved building on the deli’s strong reputation for great locally sourced produce and am always looking for new ways to grow and improve the business.”
A key part of Joanna’s ethos is making sure that the produce served is as local as possible. The deli also stocks a good range of gluten free produce.
Joanna said: “We offer local Scottish produce that you won’t find in the supermarkets, such as Trodden Black’s chilli jams and hot sauces which are produced just around the corner.
“Our coffee is also roasted just a stones throw away!”
The deli’s signature dishes include their Fire Cracker Pig sandwich and warming chicken noodle soup; with pizza nights and wine tasting evenings held during the summer months.
Born and raised in Dollar, Joanna has a real love for the village and is heavily involved in a variety of local community projects.
She said: “We helped set-up Dollar in Bloom and take great pride in making sure the flower baskets and beds are looking in great shape.
“We also help raise money for and support local annual events like the duck race; as well as supporting local families by donating excess produce to the Village Kitchen CIC.”
